Getting home safely with a driver service

One of the most significant causes of road trauma and death in Australia is drunk driving.

At Scoot2You our greatest concern is ensuring that our clients are driven home safely and comfortably without risking their own and the lives of others. The Scoot2You Scooter Service allows you to have a drink and then be driven home by a Scoot2You driver in the comfort and convenience of your own car.

In Australia drivers (with the exception of drivers in the Australia Capital Territory as well as learner, probationary, convicted DUI drivers, truck, bus and taxi drivers) of motor vehicles are prohibited to drive at the prescribed blood alcohol (BAC) 0.05%. At a BAC level of 0.05% a person’s concentration levels are impaired.  

How much is too much?

An issue for drivers is knowing when they are over the BAC level of 0.05% and without knowing this they risk driving over the legal limit. The only way to measure your BAC is by using a fully calibrated testing machine. There is also the general advice of limiting your drinking to a particular number of standard drinks per hour.

What is a Standard Drink?

One standard drink equals:

• 285ml or approximately one pot of regular beer (4.8% alcohol content)
• 375ml or one stubbie of mid-strength beer (3.5% alcohol content)
• 100ml or one small glass of table wine (13.5% alcohol content)
• 30ml of spirits plus mixer (40% alcohol content).

Cocktails can contain as much alcohol as five or six standard drinks, depending on the recipe.

Keep in mind that the guidelines of standard drinks per hour do not apply to everyone so if you are concerned about driving over the limit of 0.05% don’t drive, instead call Scoot2You to arrange our Scooter Service to get you home safely and in the comfort of your own car.
